  • 300g plain biscuits, crushed
  • 150g mixed nuts, chopped
  • 100g dark chocolate, melted
  • 200g sweetened condensed milk
  • 80g glacé cherries, chopped
  • 60g candied peel
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp brandy, rum, or orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • Icing sugar or melted chocolate, to finish

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients: Combine the crushed biscuits, chopped nuts, cherries, candied peel, cocoa powder, and orange zest in a large bowl.
  2. Bind: Stir in the melted chocolate, condensed milk, and brandy, rum, or orange juice. Mix until the ingredients hold together.
  3. Shape: Spoon the mixture onto baking paper and shape into a log. Roll tightly and twist the ends to compact it.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until firm.
  5. Finish: Dust with icing sugar or cover with melted chocolate before slicing.
